Support of the subsequent things

Questioning dogma, especially psychiatric dogma.

Countering iatrogenesis, the creation of harm to a patient by a physician, whether intentional or unintentional. Iatrogenesis can take the forms of misinformation, peer pressure, medical malpractice, misdiagnosis, stigma, involuntary medical treatment, and nocebo effect.

neuroatypicality: Atypical mental trait or the condition of possessing such a trait. It is unusual, but can be healthy and good.

Countering psychophobia, fear of people with neuroatypicality and/or mental illness.

Countering saneism or mentalism, prejudice against people with neuroatypicality and/or mental illness.

Recognition of abnormality as not always an condition inferior to normality.

Recognition of a person's emotions usually as indicators of how the environment affects that person.

neurodiversity: Diversity of mental traits.

Mad Pride: Recognition of the importance of people with mental illness. Also, celebration of neuroatypicality, neurodiversity, and freedom of thought.

psychiatric survivors movement; psychiatric survivor movement: Political movement to recognize the harm psychiatry has caused to some patients, the danger it continues to cause, and to protect the wellness and autonomy of patients of the past, present, and future.

antipsychiatry: Alternative philosophy to traditional psychiatry, which questions whether traditional psychiatry is effective at its goals, beneficial, safe, scientific, and/or moral. One of the specific detriments of psychiatry is that it tends to claim that the cause of a person's mental problems is a neurochemical imbalance, despite that this theory is unproven. Psychiatry also often ignores, and sometimes contributes to, the environmental hazards and societal flaws that cause people distress, such as discrimination, oppression, abuse, poverty, peer pressure, and misinformation.

medical ethic of autonomy, also known as the Latin maxim “Voluntas aegroti suprema lex.”: In translation, this maxim states that the will of the patient is supreme. Generally, Dubey supports the use of this medical ethic.
